1. Prepare the ingredients: Wash and slice the cabbage, cut the carrots into thin strips, chop the green onions, and mince the garlic. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, honey, and black pepper. Stir well and set aside.

2. Cook the ground beef: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until it is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

3. Add the garlic and ginger: Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for about 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

4. Cook the carrots: Add the sliced carrots to the skillet and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes. This helps soften the carrots while keeping them slightly crisp.

5. Add the cabbage: Add the sliced cabbage in batches if needed. Toss everything together and cook for 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage has softened but still retains a little crunch.

6. Add the sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables. Toss thoroughly so the sauce coats all the ingredients evenly. Continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

7. Season and finish: Taste the mixture and add salt if needed. Sprinkle in the red pepper flakes if you prefer a little heat. Stir in half of the sliced green onions.

8. Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the remaining green onions over the top. Serve immediately while hot, either on its own or with steamed white rice, brown rice, or noodles.

Tips for the Best Results

  • For extra flavor: Add a little more fresh ginger or a splash of rice vinegar to brighten the sauce.

  • For tender vegetables: Avoid overcooking the cabbage; it should be soft but not mushy.

  • For a richer sauce: Add an extra teaspoon of oyster sauce or a small drizzle of sesame oil just before serving.

  • For meal prep: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat until thoroughly hot.
